Reading Rocks in Room 27!!

Welcome family and friends of Class 2-H to Hofmann's Hotspot!  The 2013-2014 school year is well under way and our class has been hard at work learning, creating, and enjoying second grade :)  We wanted to share some of our favorite reading activities with you so far.  Since you can't come to school with us, we brought our classroom to you!  Enjoy and check back for more updates soon!!!!  Love, Class 2-H
P.S. You can also follow Miss Hofmann on Twitter (@mmhteach), where more fun learning activities will be shared...
Retelling Using Sequence Words
Samantha, Jade, Brendan, Ranya, and Sam led the class in an exciting retell!

Comparing and Contrasting Character Traits of Miss Nelson and Miss Swamp
We had so much fun making a hula hoop Venn Diagram!  But I'm still wondering where Miss Nelson is...
Vivek and Phoebe using sequence words
to follow directions.
Brendan and Samantha helping each other
to trace their goggles.  Teamwork in class 2-H!

Jordan, Umair, Sydney, and Ben used sequence words beautifully when following directions to create their own goggles.

Samantha, Ava, George, Aslan, and Brendan proudly act like Peter
from the book Goggles.
Sam, Jade, Ranya, Arjun, and Brian are ready for their retells!

After reading Goggles by Ezra Jack Keats, we retold the story using sequence words.  Then, we highlighted sequence
words we found in the directions for "How To Make Goggles." Next, we made our own goggles just like Peter from the
story.  Finally, we posed for a class pic.  Who knew sequence words could be so much fun?!
